For trades and home services

Being the one who gets called

Plumbers, electricians, builders, landscapers, painters, cleaners and every trade that drives to the job. Your customers search in a hurry, on a phone, for someone nearby who looks like they’ll answer. Here’s how I make sure that’s you.

What I look for first

  • A Google profile claimed years ago and never touched: wrong hours, no services listed, three photos, and a service area that stops short of the suburbs you work in.
  • Reviews that stopped in 2023. Happy customers, and nobody asking them.
  • A website with no tap-to-call, a form nobody answers until tonight, and the phone number buried in the footer.
  • Invisible for “[your trade] [suburb]” in the places you’d most like the work, while a franchise with a call centre takes the top spot.
  • Ask ChatGPT or Gemini who to call, and it names the franchise too, because nothing online describes you clearly.

What I do, in order

  • Find out where you stand. The Diagnostic when the answer isn’t obvious, including the enquiry test: I ring as a customer would, fill in your form, and tell you exactly what happened.
  • Rebuild the Google profile. Every service, and the suburbs that matter most, real photos of real jobs, and a post every fortnight. Apple Maps and Bing matched, because Apple Maps is the default maps app on iPhone.
  • A review routine your team will actually keep. One text after each job, every review answered within two business days, and never a fake, bought or incentivised one.
  • A site that gets a call in two taps. Call and text buttons that follow the thumb, a form that reaches you straight away, and a page for each service and area that is genuinely different, not the same page with the suburb swapped.
  • Tracking that tells you where the enquiries came from. Calls, forms and texts counted, on a dashboard you can open any time, with a short email every Monday.
  • Described clearly where the AI tools read. Then when someone asks “who’s a good electrician in Berwick”, there is a clear, consistent answer about you to find.

Your first month

Week one, you add me to your Google profile and your site (two minutes, no passwords) and I measure everything as it is. Weeks two and three, the profile is rebuilt, the review routine starts, and the website problems worth fixing are listed, ready for the Sprint or a quote. Week four, your first one-page letter arrives, and we meet for 45 minutes. Search and maps move over weeks and months, not days, and your monthly letter shows exactly what has moved.

What it costs

For a trade, I’d start with Presence, $1,250 a month plus GST: the core, Google and maps, and reviews. If you want it done once and handed over, the Visibility Sprint is $2,250 plus GST for six weeks. Every price is published, and nothing starts without a fixed price in writing.

Where to start

A free thirty-minute conversation. Then every client gets a clear look at where they stand: the Diagnostic when the answer isn’t obvious (a day finding out exactly where you stand, including a real test of what happens when a customer calls you), or a written plan in the proposal when it is. Book a call, or tell me your business and I’ll email you three things I’d fix, free.
